Use a screwdriver to unscrew each screw and then lift the plate off the heater using your hands. You reset the electric water heater reset button by pushing that red button. I turned off double breaker hit this red reset button and then turned power back on and there was a big clunk at the water heater so do i assume it tripped itself again.
